Sneak peek at Disney's 'Star Wars' galaxy not so far away

New Delhi [India], Jul 14 (ANI): The much-anticipated Disney's Star Wars-themed lands may not open until 2019, but a sneak peek has been unveiled.

The company unveiled video and images of a large-scale model of the theme park attractions just ahead of Disney fan event, D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, where it will officially be on display.

As Disney's D23 Expo kicked off, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek gave attendees a close-up look at the new Star Wars-themed lands hitting Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019.

According to the Disney Parks site, both lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where 'Star Wars' characters and their stories come to life.

Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Concept art for Disneyland's upcoming 14-acre attraction was released last summer. Star Wars Land will be the largest-ever single-themed expansion at the theme park, according to Disney. (ANI)
