Miss India Anukreethy Vas eyes the Miss World title

Chennai, (Tamil Nadu) [India] June 30 (ANI): Anukreethy Vas from Tamil Nadu, who won the 2018 Femina Miss India beauty pageant, now wants to focus and prepare for the upcoming Miss World event in China.

While speaking to ANI she said that she is now concentrating on sincerely preparing for the mega event that is going to take place in December.

"Now, I am working hard for the upcoming Miss World pageant. I am working with several experts and panellists to improve my weaknesses," Vas said.

She also said that it is because of her mother's support that she was able to achieve the coveted title.

"My mother was of course the one person who has been motivating since my childhood because she has never said no to a thing that I dreamt off. She has been one powerhouse in my house, who had been pushing me to my best," she added.

Anukreethy Vas, who is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in French at Loyola College in Chennai, was crowned Miss India on June 19 by the former titleholder and Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar.

Meenakshi Chaudhary of Haryana and Shreya Rao Kamavarapu of Andhra Pradesh were crowned first and second runner-ups at the event.

Vas will represent India at the 68th edition of Miss World pageant, which is scheduled to be held in Sanya, China on December 8. (ANI)
