Bangladesh, India's neighboring country, is grappling with a political crisis. On Tuesday (August 6), Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar addressed the Rajya Sabha, stating that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina requested permission to visit India on very short notice. The Foreign Minister mentioned that at the same time, a request was made to Bangladesh's authorities for flight approval. Consequently, Sheikh Hasina arrived in Delhi on the evening of August 5 (Monday). Jaishankar assured the Rajya Sabha that the Indian government is closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh. He noted that Sheikh Hasina's request for a brief visit was promptly granted, and India remains in continuous contact with Bangladeshi officials to stay updated on the evolving situation.
