Are locusts putting millions at the risk of starvation?
5 million people in east Africa are at risk of starvation due to locust attacks. The locusts eat up crops as they attack in large numbers. This leads to less crop yielding and hence less food availability. This leads to an increase in prices of vegetables and pulses making millions incapable to buy the produce.
