Water scarcity holds key in Ananthapur-Hindupur seats as YSRCP battles anti-incumbency
Polling to elect 25 MPs and 175 MLAs in Andhra Pradesh will be held simultaneously on May 13th. Among the constituencies that go to polls are Hindupur and Ananthapur bordering Karnataka. Both the Lok Sabha seats are currently held by the YSRCP which wrested them from the Telugu Desam Party in 2019. In Hindupur Lok Sabha constituency, the YSRCP has dropped its sitting MP, K Madhav, a former Police officer, and instead fielded J Shantamma, a former BJP MP from Bellary in Karnataka.
