At the daily press conference, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry Lav Agarwal informed that the analysis of deaths so far depict the fatality rate to be 3.2 percent. In this, 65 percent of deaths were of males and 35 percent of the deceased were females.
"A study of the age distribution of deaths shows that 14 percent of deaths occurred in the age-group of below 45 years, 34.8 percent in the age group of 45 to 60 years and 51.2 percent in those aged above 60 years," he said.
