Population control law petition: SC issues notice to central govt

Supreme Court has issued notice to Centre seeking certain directions on controlling population, after hearing a petition filed by BJP leader and lawyer, Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay. The Delhi High Court had last year rejected a petition demanding the government to enact a population control law. The High Court bench dismissed the petition filed by the same BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay. More details in this news report.
