Odisha: BMC appeals public to save environment
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Odisha, has made an appeal to civilians to take a pledge on New Year to save the environment. The BMC officials distributed cotton bags, books and plants among residents. They also urged the locals to stop using plastic bags. BMC Commissioner, Prem Chandra Chaudhary added that they will distribute atleast 50 thousand bags and plants to the families. The locals seemed ready to cooperate with the BMC on the initiative.
