Will Election Commission extend ban on political rallies?

On Saturday, January 22, the Election Commission of India (EC) held a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation in five poll-bound states. The Union health secretary, as well as the chief secretaries and health secretaries of the states, attended the EC meeting. The EC is expected to assess the current state of public health in the states and make a judgement on limits on political rallies, campaigns, and roadshows based on the evaluation.
