Twitter 'Blue tick' Issue: Why the matter got 'ugly'?

After removing the blue tick from Vice President Of India Venkaiah Naidu’s account and later restoring it after the Centre’s interference, Twitter  withdrew the blue tick from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's personal account.

Twitter has not justified reasons for the action but had cited earlier on Saturday that it is removing the verification status from those accounts which are inactive from the last 6 months.

However, there are many such accounts like Late finance minister Arun Jaitley, Late External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj which has the blue badge even after remaining inactive for a year. Bhagwat’s handle has 209k followers and he has not tweeted anything since he joined it.
