Rahul Gandhi Rallies for Priyanka in High-Stakes Wayanad By-Election Campaign | ABP News
The by-election for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled for November 13, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently campaigned for his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is the party's candidate in this by-election. Rahul Gandhi held a joint rally with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Wayanad as part of the campaign, where he spoke about his sister and shared a childhood memory. Addressing the rally, Rahul said, "I have two choices in this rally—either to give a political message or to talk about my family members. I would like to speak to you as I would with my family." He added, "My sister has always campaigned but has never contested an election. This says something about her character." He shared a childhood memory of a friendly competition between him and Priyanka, where they used cameras gifted by their father, the late Rajiv Gandhi, to take the best picture. Rahul said, "I still don’t remember who won… well, she now says I won." He reflected on Priyanka’s journey from being a young girl taking pictures to the woman she has become. Rahul remarked, "She understands beauty as something beyond surface level; every person has countless qualities, and each individual is unique—she’ll see strength where others may see weakness. This is my sister." Rahul also highlighted Priyanka’s ability to take on multiple roles, noting, "The fight for our country isn’t about hate but about defending and upholding a Constitution built with humility and love." He praised her compassion and said, "Sometimes I’m more logical, but she is more emotional. I believe you’re about to get the best possible MP. I say with conviction, no one is more suited than her to represent you." To recap, this by-election is being held following Rahul Gandhi's decision to vacate the Wayanad seat after he won both the Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Voting for the Wayanad by-election will take place on November 13.
