Politics High in Karnataka as the Petrol Diesel Prices Shot Right After Election Results | ABP News

Due to increase in sales tax on petrol and diesel by the Karnataka government, fuel prices have increased in the state. Regarding this, State Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the new prices of petrol and diesel are still affordable. He posted on social media platform." CM Siddaramaiah said, "In Maharashtra, VAT on petrol is 25 per cent and additional tax of Rs 5.12, while on diesel it is 21 per cent. Fuel rates in Karnataka are still more affordable. Even after increasing the VAT tax in Karnataka, "Diesel prices are lower than Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh." CM Siddaramaiah blamed BJP for the increased prices of petrol and diesel in Karnataka. The CM said, "We are committed to providing fuel to our people at reasonable prices. When the BJP government was in the state, they kept reducing VAT on petrol and diesel, while the central government continuously increased its tax rates. Due to this manipulation, Karnataka's revenue decreased, while the central government kept filling its coffers. This is a fraud on the people of Karnataka."
