Cyclone Fengal Devastates, Locals Forced to Seek Shelter as Aftermath Unfolds | ABP News

Cyclone Fengal made landfall along the coastal stretch between Karaikal in Puducherry and Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu. The storm brought winds with speeds of up to 90 km/h during landfall, significantly impacting the region. As a result, the weather in Tamil Nadu changed dramatically, with heavy rainfall hitting cities like Chennai. The intense rainfall led to waterlogging in many areas of the city, causing disruption. In response to the cyclone, Tamil Nadu has issued a high alert. An orange alert has been declared for districts like Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Dindigul, and Erode, indicating the likelihood of severe weather. A yellow alert has been issued for other districts, warning residents of possible moderate rainfall and strong winds. In southern Andhra Pradesh, most districts are under a yellow alert, with specific orange alerts for Nellore and Tirupati due to the heightened risk of heavy rain and winds. The impact of Cyclone Fengal is also expected to be felt in Puducherry and Kerala, where heavy rainfall is predicted over the next few days. Authorities are urging people to remain cautious, particularly in the affected regions, and to stay informed about weather updates and advisories. Emergency response teams are on high alert to handle any potential disasters caused by the storm's aftermath.
