Paris Paralympics 2024: India Makes History with Record Medal Haul | ABP News

The Paris Paralympics 2024 were a landmark event for India, with the country achieving its best performance ever. India won a record 29 medals at the Paris Paralympics, comprising 7 gold, 9 silver, and 13 bronze. This surpassed India’s previous record of 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, a feat achieved with immense pride. Over the last two Paralympic editions, India has secured a total of 48 medals. In contrast, the previous 11 editions saw India win only 12 medals, indicating a significant improvement and progress in recent years. Before Paris, the Tokyo Paralympics saw India send its largest delegation of 54 athletes. For the Paris Paralympics, the delegation grew even larger, with 84 Indian para-athletes participating and setting a new record for the most medals won in a single edition. Notably, India had previously won only 4 gold medals before Tokyo. At the Paris Paralympics alone, India won 7 gold medals, adding to the 5 golds won in Tokyo. This demonstrates a remarkable enhancement in India’s performance at the Paralympics.
