Paris Olympics: Major Decision Expected Today On Vinesh Phogat's Medal | ABP News

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is set to deliver its verdict today on whether Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat will receive a medal after being disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024 for exceeding the weight limit by 100 grams. The case has garnered significant attention, with many demanding justice for Vinesh. After her disqualification, both Vinesh Phogat and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) appealed for the silver medal. The case will be represented by the country's top lawyer, Harish Salve, who will advocate on behalf of Vinesh and the IOA at the CAS. The hearing is scheduled for today (Friday, August 9) at 12:30 pm IST, and the verdict is expected later in the day. If further proceedings are needed, an additional date may be set.
