NTA Action: NTA Faces Major Overhaul Amid Student Protests Over Exam Reforms
Amid ongoing student protests, the Modi government is preparing major reforms in the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts NEET and several other major examinations. According to reports, 47 NTA officials were dismissed, while more officials could face disciplinary or legal action. Two secretaries were also removed earlier this week. The government is reportedly planning to restructure the agency's entire framework within the next month. Based on recommendations from an expert committee, changes are also expected in the NTA's outsourcing process. The aim is to create a more secure, leak-proof examination system and prevent future paper leaks. The agency is also expected to appoint four general managers and 16 young professionals as part of the overhaul. The government is now preparing for significant changes to strengthen the NTA and improve the transparency and security of the examination process.
