In Maharashtra’s Pune, incessant rainfall has led to waterlogging on Sinhagad Road, affecting the locals. PMC workers are actively working to clear the streets. Pune is facing severe flooding after overnight downpours, trapping residents in their homes. The situation worsened with the release of water from Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River, adding about 40 cusecs more water. Many areas have been without electricity since last night. Rainwater has entered approximately 15 housing societies, and three people have tragically died due to electrocution. Over 100 mm of rainfall has been recorded at four locations in Pune city. The IMD has issued a red alert in Madhya Maharashtra for Thursday, predicting extremely heavy rainfall, with an orange alert for July 26 and 27.
