Madhya Pradesh: Crane Collapses During Bridge Construction In Dhar, Two Killed

A tragic accident occurred in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where a massive crane overturned during the construction of a railway bridge in the Pritampur–Sagore area. The crane, involved in heavy lifting work, suddenly lost balance and fell, crushing a pickup van beneath it. According to initial reports, two people inside the van were killed on the spot, while several others are feared trapped. Rescue operations are currently underway as local authorities and disaster response teams have reached the site. Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely flattened under the crane’s weight. Officials have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident, though unsteady ground or mechanical failure are being suspected. The area has been cordoned off, and heavy machinery is being brought in to lift the overturned crane and recover any remaining victims.
