Recent cloudbursts have caused severe devastation in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In Himachal Pradesh, cloudbursts in Kullu's Nirmand block, Malana, and Mandi district have led to widespread destruction. Several homes, schools, and hospitals have been damaged, with around 40 people reported missing. In Mandi, one body has been recovered, and 35 people have been rescued. Authorities have closed all schools in Mandi for safety. In Uttarakhand, heavy rains have also caused significant damage, impacting infrastructure and displacing residents. Rescue operations are ongoing in both states, with emergency services working to provide aid and assess the damage. Both state governments are coordinating with central agencies to manage the crisis and support affected communities.
