Haryana Update: PM Modi to Flag Off India's First Hydrogen Train, Launch Mega Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a three-state tour covering Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹26,000 crore. The highlight of the day will be the launch of India's first hydrogen-powered train in Haryana, marking a major step toward cleaner and more sustainable railway transportation. The Prime Minister will begin his visit in Jind, Haryana, where he is scheduled to flag off the country's first hydrogen train. The eco-friendly train is designed to produce zero carbon emissions, emitting only water vapour during operation. The initiative is expected to support India's clean energy goals while reducing dependence on conventional fossil fuels in the railway sector. During his Haryana visit, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects valued at around ₹14,700 crore, covering infrastructure, connectivity, and public welfare. He is also expected to address a large public gathering. Following the Haryana programme, the Prime Minister will travel to Chandigarh to unveil projects worth over ₹6,600 crore across multiple sectors aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure and public services. His final stop will be Jalandhar in Punjab, where projects exceeding ₹5,470 crore will be inaugurated or launched. PM Modi will also address a public rally there, highlighting the government's focus on infrastructure growth and regional development. The launch of India's first hydrogen train is being viewed as a landmark milestone in the country's transition toward green mobility and sustainable transportation, reflecting the government's broader vision for environmentally friendly infrastructure and technological innovation.
