Gyanvapi Masjid Row: Muslim side's petition will not be filed in HC today | ABP News
The original complaint, filed in 1991 in Varanasi district court, was for the reconstruction of a historic temple on the site of the Gyanvapi mosque. Following a petition filed by Delhi residents Rakhi Singh, Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu, and others, Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar ordered a video survey of the mosque on April 18, 2021. The Muslim side has cited Section 4 of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, which prohibits any legal action for the modification of a place of worship's religious character, as it existed on August 15, 1947.
