Diwali 2024: How To Concentrate Better On Studies—Astrologer Rajkumar Shastri Shares Insights

Diwali in 2024 will be celebrated on October 31, as religious scholars have reached a consensus regarding this date. The festival, which includes the traditional worship of Goddess Lakshmi, will thus occur on October 31. There was significant confusion regarding the date for Diwali this year, with some people suggesting it would fall on October 31 and others on November 1, due to the Amavasya (new moon) occurring across both days. However, religious texts advise that Diwali should be celebrated when Amavasya aligns with the evening Pradosh period, which led scholars to agree upon October 31 as the auspicious day. The Lakshmi Puja timing is especially significant during Diwali. On October 31, Amavasya will be observed in the evening, making it ideal for Lakshmi Puja after sunset. The best time for the worship of Goddess Lakshmi on this date is between 6:25 p.m. and 8:32 p.m. Additionally, worship of both Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha is traditionally performed during this period.
