COVID case increases in poll-bound states, is India currently facing third wave peak?
The fear of an increase in COVID-19 cases in the poll-bound states has risen. As the elections are approaching, the leaders are seen campaigning without masks and roaming on the streets with a flock. The leaders have also seen flouting the COVID-19 guidelines. Uttar Pradesh reported 6,411 cases on 8 January, 15,795 cases on 15 January and 18,554 COVID cases on January 20. Uttarakhand reported 1,560 cases on January 8, 3838 on January 15 and 4,818 on January 20. However, Punjab sees the same trend with 3,643 cases on January 8, 6883 on January 15 and 7862 on January 20.
