A tragic road accident occurred in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, when a speeding Creta car collided forcefully with a tempo. The tempo was carrying a family of seven returning from a wedding in Bihar. The collision was so intense that both the car and the tempo fell into a ditch by the roadside. Seven people, including the bride and groom, lost their lives, while two people in the car were severely injured. The accident took place on NH-74 near the Dhampur police station on Saturday morning. The family had taken a tempo from Moradabad Station after their wedding and was on their way home when the Creta car, attempting to overtake another vehicle, lost control and crashed into the tempo from behind. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were severely damaged, and the tempo was completely torn apart. The bride, groom, and four other family members died on the spot, while the tempo driver succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital. The local police chief confirmed that a case has been filed against the Creta driver, who also suffered injuries, and the vehicle has been seized. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident. He expressed his condolences to the grieving families and directed officials to speed up relief efforts at the site and provide proper treatment to the injured. He also wished for the quick recovery of the injured individuals.
