BJP Observes June 25 As Black Day In Remembrance Of 1975 Emergency | ABP News
Observing June 25 as a Black Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, "The Congress has repeatedly trampled upon the spirit of our Constitution to keep a particular family in power. Indira Gandhi unleashed ruthless atrocities on the people of India during the Emergency. The Congress prince has forgotten that his grandmother imposed the Emergency, and his father, Rajiv Gandhi, proudly defended it in the Lok Sabha on July 23, 1985, saying, 'There is nothing wrong with an Emergency.' Rajiv Gandhi even stated, 'If any Prime Minister of this country feels that an Emergency is necessary under these circumstances and does not apply it, he is not fit to be the Prime Minister of this country.' This pride in dictatorial actions reveals that the Congress values nothing more than the family and power."
