Floodwaters pose a significant threat in many areas of Bihar, following heavy rainfall in the state and Nepal. Rivers in Bihar are swollen, causing floodwater to inundate low-lying areas across several districts. The Water Resources Department is on high alert, closely monitoring the embankments. According to the department, the Gandak and Kosi rivers are flowing above the danger mark at certain locations. The Kosi river's water discharge at Veerpur Barrage was recorded at 1,08,600 cusecs at 2 pm on Thursday (July 04), while the Gandak river's discharge at Valmikinagar barrage was 88,300 cusecs at 2 pm. Additionally, the water level of the Sone River has risen at Indrapuri Barrage, with a discharge of 4,094 cusecs at 10 am, increasing to 5,564 cusecs by 2 pm.
