Bihar Assembly Protest: Opposition Protests in Bihar Assembly Over NEET Student Death
A major political protest unfolded in the Bihar Assembly complex as opposition parties staged demonstrations against the Nitish Kumar government, raising serious concerns over law and order in the state. The protest focused on the death of a NEET aspirant and the brutal rape and murder of a minor girl in Darbhanga. Congress MLAs, led by Abhishek Ranjan, arrived with posters and an effigy symbolizing the state government, accusing it of failing to deliver justice to Bihar’s daughters. The opposition alleged that crime against women is rising in Bihar and that the police have failed to conduct effective investigations. In the NEET student death case, the victim’s family has accused authorities of rape and murder, while the police investigation has drawn criticism. The matter has now been handed over to the CBI, further intensifying political pressure. During the ongoing Budget Session, opposition legislators demanded a statement from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inside the House and called for a detailed discussion. They warned that parliamentary proceedings would not run smoothly until justice is ensured for the victims. The opposition also claimed intimidation when raising issues against the government.
