BIG headlines of the day | Clashes in Mominpur after religious flag torn | 10.10.1992
West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Monday appealed to the home ministry to deploy central forces in the state over alleged violence in Mominpur.
According to news agency ANI, on October 9, a clash erupted between two groups from two different communities after a religious flag was allegedly torn by some miscreants during the Eid Milad-Un-Nabi festival. Later, a group of people reached Ekbalpore PS demanding the arrest of the accused in the incident. Following tensions between two communities in Mominpur, a group of people surrounded Ekbalpore police station in Kolkata in protest against the violence, ANI reported citing other reports.
