Amid fierce protests in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina resigned as Prime Minister on Monday and came to India. She is currently staying in India and is awaiting diplomatic asylum from the UK. Her aircraft landed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad in the evening as part of her plan to go to London. During this time, security arrangements at the airbase were tightened. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval went to meet her upon her arrival. Air Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha of Western Air Command also arrived to meet the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, accompanied by several senior officers of the Indian Army.
