Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, the commanding officer of the 21 Rashtriya Rifles unit, was martyred in operation in Handwara. His Wife, while talking to ABP News said that she anticipated last night that something has happened after the family was not able to contact him. He had previously been awarded gallantry medals twice for exemplary bravery in counter-terrorist missions. He had been part of several successful counter-terrorism operations in the past.
