The anti-encroachment campaign came to an end just hours after the Supreme Court ordered that demolition in Jahangirpuri be paused, with the apex court hearing the case on Thursday. Days after community conflicts erupted in the neighbourhood, the demolition campaign has begun. Security was stepped up across the city on Wednesday morning, particularly in Jahangirpuri. The CRPF has deployed 12 companies (about 1,250 jawans) throughout the city in two shifts, the most of them in and around Jahangirpuri.
