4-time MLA Radha Mohan Das Agarwal loses ticket from Gorakhpur

The BJP declared on Saturday that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will run for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2022 from the Gorakhpur Urban constituency, a BJP and Jan Sangh stronghold since 1967. It happened a day after Radha Mohandas Agrawal held a Facebook live to engage with his constituency's voters. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, a BJP leader, has been a four-time MLA from Gorakhpur Urban since 2002, most recently winning by over 60,000 votes in 2017. Shiv Pratap Shukla and Sunil Shastri, both BJP leaders, formerly held the seat from 1989 to 2002 and 1980 to 1989, respectively.
