Guwahati: 644 militants from 8 groups surrender along with arms
Guwahati: 644 cadres of 8 militant groups today surrendered along with 177 arms, at the Arms Laying Down Ceremony, in presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. It was one of the largest surrender of militants in the recent times. Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta told reporters, "this is an important day for the state and the Assam Police. Altogether 644 cadres and leaders of eight militant groups laid down their arms."
