Ex-AMU student leader gets booked for controversial statement

Former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students' union president, Faizul Hasan, has refused to withdraw his statement in which he had said, "Muslims can destroy anything if they wish to do and the community has constantly been tested since 1947."

A case was registered against Hasan under Section 153(A) of IPC (promoting disharmony, enmity or feelings of hatred between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony).
