Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was unanimously elected as the leader by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA bloc, is likely to take his oath on June 9. India is likely to invite leaders of a number of its neighbouring countries, including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, to PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony over the weekend, PTI reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Narendra Modi is all set to take charge as the prime minister for a historic third consecutive term after the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. On Wednesday, PM Modi chaired a meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance's members who unanimously elected him as its leader.
