On June 18, CII President Sanjiv Puri spoke at a press briefing in the national capital, emphasizing that the economy is robust. He highlighted that the nation's GDP grew by 8.2 percent in the financial year 2023-2024. Sajiv Puri also stressed the importance of the government's long-term measures, linking them to the country's economic growth.
“The economy is on a very strong footing, we achieved GDP growth of 8.2 per cent last year when the world was muted, and this is so because of the slew of purposeful measures that have been taken by the government over several years and there is much optimism among the CII membership, and we are forecasting 8 per cent next year”, said Sanjiv Puri.
