Draupadi Murmu had created a history by being the first president who hails from the tribal community and the first president to be born in the Independent India. She is also the second woman president after Pratibha Patil and second president from the state Odisha after V.V Giri. Born in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, she rose to fame after her appointment as the first woman Governer of Jharkhand from 2015-2021, as she worked for the tribal welfare in the state. Alongside NDA, many opposition parties came to support her during presidential elections.
