Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to take oath for a third consecutive term on Saturday (June 9), four days after results were announced on 543 Lok Sabha seats on Tuesday.

This is the first time since first Congress leader Jawaharlal Nehru that a prime minister will be returning to power for a third consecutive term.

NDA MPs will again meet on June 7 to formally elect Modi as their leader and the alliance leaders will then go to the President to submit their letters of support, HAM (Secular) leader and former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said after attending the meeting.
