Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Kumari Selja Casts Vote In Hisar, Encourages Voters | ABP News

Approximately 2.03 crore voters are set to decide the fate of 1,031 candidates across the state's 90 Assembly constituencies, with polling scheduled from 7 AM to 6 PM. Among the candidates, 101 are women, and 464 are running as independents. Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal announced that 2,03,54,350 voters, including 8,821 centenarians, are eligible to participate, with 1,07,75,957 men, 95,77,926 women, and 467 transgender voters. Notably, 2,31,093 voters are aged over 85, including the 8,821 centenarians. Key political parties include the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, INLD-BSP, and JJP-Azad Samaj Party. Prominent candidates are Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from Ladwa, Leader of Opposition Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, and BJP's Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt, among others. The BJP has also fielded Bhavya Bishnoi, the grandson of former CM Bhajan Lal, from Adampur. A total of 20,632 polling booths have been set up, with 3,460 marked as critical and 138 as vulnerable. To ensure a peaceful election process, over 30,000 police personnel and 225 paramilitary companies have been deployed, alongside 186 interstate and 215 intra-state checkpoints. A total of 27,866 Electronic Voting Machines will be used, and voters can verify their votes via VVPAT machines. In the previous assembly elections of 2019, Haryana saw a voter turnout of 68%. The results for the 2024 elections will be announced on October 8.
