The aircraft carrier INS Virat, who had been the pride of India for 30 years, retired on 6 March 2017. Today Virat is on his last journey at sea. Virat is being taken from Mumbai Harbor to the Alang Shipbreaker Yard of Gujarat. It has been bought by a company called Shriram for 38 crore 54 lakhs. After the retirement of this warship, states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh wanted to convert into museums, but the matter did not happen. During his service, Virat, who ruled the sea for nearly 57 years, has written a glorious history. Now a 60-year history is going to end, which is not only associated with the Indian Navy but also with the Royal Navy. Grand Old Lady INS Virat retired from service on 6 March 2017.
