All parties have declared their candidates for the biennial election to the State Legislative Council of Maharashtra. The polling will be held on May 21 to fill the 9 vacant seats. The BJP has nominated four candidates, all considered close to former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The saffron party has sidelined state unit heavyweights like Eknath Khadse and Vinod Tawde, which has led to dissatisfaction between the leadership.
