How Madhubani Paintings Reached US, UK And What's So Special About Them?

Madhubani or Mithila painting comes from the culturally rich region of Mithila in Bihar and is renowned world over. These paintings depict life events like birth, marriage and festivals through eye-catching geometrical patterns. Natural colour from leaves, flowers and fruits are used. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also lauded the women self-help groups in Bihar for making masks depicting Madhubani paintings. These masks have gained popularity during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
