A Turkish Airlines flight to Jakarta in Indonesia was forced to make an emergency landing at Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Medan airport after an inebriated passenger got into a fight with flight attendants and attacked one of the members.

In a video that was recorded by a fellow passenger and posted on social media, a man can be seen lunging ahead and trying to hit a crew member holding plastic handcuffs with punches. One can also see him biting flight attendant’s finger, while other passengers look on.

As soon as the fight broke out, other flight attendants rushed to defuse the situation. However, one of the attendant can also be seen kicking the passenger amid the ruckus. 

According to the Express, the passenger, was identified as an Indonesian citizen and a pilot of another carrier. The man who was allegedly drunk on the Boeing 777 got infuriated and bit the finger of one of the crew members after he was warned to settle himself down by the flight attendants, the report added.

The Turkish Airlines reportedly said that their employee's actions were in no way a reflection of the company's values. 

Later, the man accused of causing the fight was subdued and escorted off the plane, which departed again to arrive at Jakarta in Indonesia - its original destination - at around 8pm local time. 

The man was injured and given medical treatment at a health facility in Kuala Namu Airport after being subdued and escorted off the plane, said spokesperson for the Jakarta Metro Police, as reported by the Express.

The incident is being investigated by the Deli Serdang Police, which operates in the Medan region, said another local outlet, KabarPenumpang.
