Medaram Jatara, India's Largest Tribal Festival Begins In Telangana. PM Modi Sends Wishes
Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Women and Child Welfare Dansari Anasuya Seethakka inaugurated the tribal dance performances in Medaram village.
PM Modi conveyed his warm wishes for the commencement of the Sammakka-Sarakka Medaram Jathara, highlighting it as a significant tribal festival representing cultural heritage. Taking to X, PM Modi said "Greetings on the start of the Sammakka-Sarakka Medaram Jathara, one of the largest tribal festivals, and a vibrant manifestation of the enduring spirit of our cultural heritage. This Jathara is a great fusion of devotion, tradition and community spirit. We bow to Sammakka-Sarakka and recall the spirit of unity and valour they personify."
According to ANI, hundreds gathered as the Telangana Government organised the tribal festival Sammakka Saralamma Jathara in the Medaram village of Mulugu district. Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development (including Rural Water Supply), Women & Child Welfare Dansari Anasuya Seethakka inaugurated the tribal dance performances organized by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training at Tribal Museum in Medaram village.
