Kaleshwaram Project: Kishan Reddy Challenges Cong-Led Telangana Govt To Write To Centre Seeking Probe

Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy assured Revanth Reddy that the central government would initiate an investigation within 48 hours if the Chief Minister wrote a letter to them.

Amid controversies surrounding the Kaleshwaram project scam, Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy issued a direct challenge to the Congress-led government, urging them to write to the Centre if they desired a CBI investigation into the case. He emphasized that if Congress failed to take necessary action, it would be asserted that BRS and Congress are one, as they are not coming forward to investigate this project.

On the Kaleshwaram project scam, G Kishan Reddy said, "When Congress was in opposition, they used to demand a CBI inquiry on this. Today, when Congress is in power, I suggest they write a letter to the Central Govt and demand the same."

"I want to tell CM Revanth Reddy that if you want CBI action in the Kaleshwaram project then you should write to the Central Government. You write to the Central Government and we will start an investigation within 48 hours. If you don't do this then we will say that BRS and Congress are one because they are not coming forward to investigate this project," he said.

During the run-up for the election, Congress accused BRS of massive corruption in Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project in Telangana. Taking to X, Rahul Gandhi said, "Kaleshwaram Project = KCR Family ATM. I visited the Medigadda barrage, which is a part of the corruption-ridden Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme in Telangana."

"Cracks have developed in multiple pillars because of shoddy construction with reports indicating that the pillars are sinking. KCR and his family are using the Kaleshwaram Project as their personal ATM to plunder the people of Telangana," he said.
