Class 10 Exams: Over 11 Lakh Students Appear In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana

In Andhra Pradesh, as many as 6.64 lakh students appeared for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam at 3,349 centres.

Over 11 lakh students appeared for their Class 10 exam that began in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Monday. Nearly 5 lakh students in Telangana and over 6 lakh students in Andhra Pradesh wrote the exam.

In Telangana, the exam started at 9.30 am and continued till 12.30 pm. In Andhra Pradesh, students were allowed to write the exam until 12.45 pm.

In Andhra Pradesh, as many as 6.64 lakh students appeared for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam at 3,349 centres.

Earlier, the Telangana Board of Secondary School Education reduced the number of exam papers from eleven to six to reduce the burden on the students. A total of 4,94,620 students appeared for the examination in Telangana.

The Road Transport Corporation has announced free travel on its buses for students writing SSC examinations from April 3 to April 13. The students will be allowed to travel for free upon producing their exam hall ticket and bus pass, irrespective of distance and origin anywhere across the state.

Students were allowed into the exam centres between 8.30 am to 9.30 am. Students are not allowed to carry any electronic devices into the exam centres. No one, including the chief superintendent of examinations, was allowed to carry mobile phones into the examination centres. Other gadgets, such as laptops, tablets, cameras, smartwatches, and Bluetooth devices, are also prohibited.

In Andhra Pradesh, officers made arrangements to detect any leak of question papers on social media platforms before and during the examination. Because of similar irregularities reported last year, the authorities have warned that strong action would be taken against those indulging in malpractice.

The Class 10 examination in Andhra Pradesh is being conducted in seven mediums: Telugu, English, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu, and Odia.
