BJP Chief Nadda Chairs Key Party Meet In Hyderabad Over Telangana, Lok Sabha Polls Preparations

BJP President JP Nadda on Sunday chaired a crucial zonal meeting of party leaders in Hyderabad ahead of Telangana and Lok Sabha elections.

Political parties across the country are now aiming for the next year's Lok Sabha elections and preparations for the same is underway. On Sunday, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) President JP Nadda chaired a meeting of senior party leaders of the south and some other states in Hyderabad to discuss the party's strategies for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and others, reported PTI Notably, the meeting also comes ahead of the assembly polls in Telangana that is set to take place later this year. As per PTI, the regional consultative meeting held at the BJP Telangana headquarters in Hyderabad was attended by party General Secretary B L Santhosh and other senior leaders as well as party MPs and MLAs and state unit presidents, among others.

Nadda felicitated the newly elected State President of the party, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy at the meeting.

Earlier in the day, Reddy tweeted: "Shri J P Nadda ji will address the meeting of BJP presidents from 11 states today in Hyderabad." According to PTI, Reddy recently put together an action plan to strengthen the party in the southern states, which would be discussed in the day-long meeting.  The meeting would also focus on the Assembly polls scheduled to be held later this year in Telangana, he had said, as quoted by PTI.

Recently, PM Narendra Modi chaired a crucial cabinet meeting after which BJP changed its state presidents in four states and reports suggested there could be more changes in the party and in the cabinet in the coming days.

On Wednesday, the BJP headquarters remained busy for the second consecutive day as several ministers and senior leaders held meetings with party president JP Nadda and other functionaries. Speculation about organisational and ministerial reshuffling added to the buzz surrounding these activities. Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel had a meeting with the BJP chief, while Sunil Jakhar, the newly appointed Punjab unit chief of the BJP, also visited the party office and had a meeting with Nadda, reported news agency PTI.

The BJP on Tuesday announced the appointments of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Sunil Jakhar, and Babulal Marandi as the presidents of the party's Telangana, Punjab, and Jharkhand units, respectively.
