Amazon Air: E-Commerce Giant Launched Freight Air Services in Hyderabad, Know Details
Amazon Air: To begin with, Amazon Air service in India will consist of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, operated by Bengaluru-based Quickjet Cargo Airlines.
Amazon Monday launched its cargo services at GMR Aero Technic in Hyderabad to improve the transportation system and enable quick delivery. The cargo service, Amazon Air, will have two dedicated cargo aircraft with a capacity of 20,000 packages. After the US and Europe, India is now the third market to be covered by the Amazon Air service.
The Amazon Air fleet, which has approximately 110 freight planes and serves more than 70 destinations worldwide, was first introduced in the US in 2016. To begin with, Amazon Air service in India will consist of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, operated by Bengaluru-based Quickjet Cargo Airlines. Initial coverage would be limited to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
Telangana Industries Minister KT Rama Rao formally launched Amazon Air, stating that the launch of Amazon Air was a great moment in the Indian e-commerce industry.

"This is the first time that Amazon Air is being launched outside North America and Europe and India, and Hyderabad gets to host the event," Rama Rao said.
The minister hoped that Amazon would continue to include more artisans, artists, and handloom weavers in its direct seller list on the global e-commerce platform. Currently, Amazon is working with Telangana’s handlooms department to help over 4500 weavers in 56 villages across the state. He said the aviation and aerospace industries were growing rapidly in Telangana due to its progressive measures.
The minister said that air traffic was increasing tremendously at RGIA and would hit the 40 million mark by 2028. He also stated that air cargo traffic will increase by 35% in 2020–21.
