YouTube's Finally Getting The Feature That It Should've Got Years Ago, You Can Now Hum To Search Songs
YouTube already has this feature for its mobile app versions and soon it will release it for the YouTube Music app as well.
Almost all of us must have encountered a situation when a song was stuck in our head but we couldn't figure out which one. All we had was a humming tune in our heads and when we tried to search for the song on YouTube and Google then we couldn't find any relevant results because it did not support 'hum' to search feature. Now YouTube has finally heard that request and introduced this new feature last year in its phone app and now, it is introducing it on the YouTube Music app as well.
This feature will be arriving for Android phones only at the moment and iOS users will have to wait a bit more to use this feature.
According to a report from 9to5Google, users can hum, sing, or whistle the tune, and YouTube Music will do the rest to find the song. The report added that the YouTube Music app will have two tabs for song searches in the near future.
How To Use This Feature
To utilise the "hum-to-search" feature on YouTube Music, start by opening the app on your Android device. Next, locate the search bar or find the dedicated button specifically for hum-to-search, which may vary depending on your app version. This button is typically positioned next to the Microphone button used for voice searches. Once you've found the hum-to-search button, press it and hum, sing, or whistle the melody of the song for approximately 10 to 15 seconds.
YouTube Music will then employ its advanced AI technology to analyze the audio and provide a list of potential matches based on the closest musical fingerprint. What's great about this feature is that you don't need to be a professional singer or have perfect pitch – even a simple hum will suffice. With YouTube Music's hum-to-search feature, discovering new music or rediscovering old favourites becomes effortless.
