WhatsApp New Features: Sending HD Media To Become Easier, No Need To Tap On 'HD' Before Sending Each File

WhatsApp New Features: This latest addition to WhatsApp gets rid of the unnecessary steps that we had to follow if we wanted to share an image in HD quality.

WhatsApp has been working consistently to roll out new features to enhance the communication experience of users. According to reports, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature which would help us send photos in HD quality by default. With the arrival of this feature, we won't have to manually choose HD every time we have to share a picture. Prior to the HD feature, WhatsApp users had to send pictures in the format of documents to avoid their compression.

Android Police has identified this new default setting in the beta version 2.24.13.10 of WhatsApp. This latest addition to WhatsApp gets rid of the unnecessary steps that we had to follow if we wanted to share an image in HD quality. As per Android Police, Meta launched the HD photo-sharing feature last August and since then the company has been working on making this feature possible.

The media files that you send with the help of this feature will have an HD label at the bottom left corner. Now Meta allows users to share videos in HD quality.

HD feature doesn't mean that the file will be shared without any loss but, it is still a huge improvement as compared to earlier. The compression of files turns our precious memories into pixelated disasters. With this new feature, they will be shared in much better quality.

When Will It Be Made Available, Already Have Access To This Feature?

Android Police has identified this new default setting in the beta version 2.24.13.10 of WhatsApp, indicating that this feature may soon be rolled out globally, beyond the testing phase.

To see if you have access to this feature, navigate to the app's settings, then select Storage and Data then click on Media upload Quality.

This update offers a mix of benefits and drawbacks for WhatsApp users. While many will appreciate the high-definition quality of uploads, WhatsApp cautions that these files will consume more bandwidth and storage space than standard options. Nevertheless, for those who prioritize high-quality photos and videos, the additional data usage is a minor inconvenience.
